My Boring Life

Okay, I've only watched a little bit of Olympics today. Jeremiah caught the cold I've had all week and had to stay home from school, so we're not at Celebrate Recovery. Not much has been happening lately, because of me being sick. We even skipped our normal Wednesday activities and all stayed home.

Sick and Obsessed With The Olympics!

Ugh! I have a cold and I've been staying up really late watching the olympics. Then, of course, I loved on my cat this morning and she shed all over me, so I had nasal allergy symptoms and itching eyes on top of it! I'm thinking tonight I'm going to let the olympics go on without me. I have DVR for crying out loud! I can watch them in the morning! I do have them recorded. I caught up quite a bit today on my olympics so I'll catch up some more tomorrow!

Catching Up On The Paparazzo's

I'd get going on my Genesis stuff, but it's been so long since I've been on here, I thought I'd get you caught up. My birthday was the 13th. We had birthday cake at Celebrate Recovery on the 12th and Josh turned the numbers around on the cake (on purpose) so that it said 53 instead of 35. Ha ha, isn't he funny. And one of my children, I can't remember which one, said, "Well, you do look 53." Aren't they sweet?!!! Last year he put a question mark on the cake. I told him that was great last year, but not this year. Not when the number ends in five or zero. Those are important birthdays. You're almost obligated to reveal your age at that point. They can guess in between. On my birthday the next day, Josh took the kids out and I had some time to myself. I did go visit a friend. It wasn't entirely joyful, since I was doing my Fifth step for those of you who are familiar with the 12 steps. Afterward she did give me a birthday Rice Krispie Treat. She would've given me one anyway, probably, but since it was my birthday she called it that. Sunday, of course was Valentine's Day, which is notorious for arriving the day after my birthday. I made sure when I married him that my husband understood that they are two separate holidays. There is my birthday and then there is Valentine's Day. They are not one! I always hated it when people did that. I found out when I was older that other people gave their childeren gifts for Valentine's Day. I told my parents this and they said they didn't think it would be fair when I get so many gifts the day before. I told them, "No, what's not fair is that I get one less holiday than everyone else!" After that I got a small gift on Valentine's Day. Of course, now, they leave that to Josh. They still send me a birthday present and they send our kids Valentine's presents. I was very grateful this year. That way they didn't really notice that they didn't get anything from us. Well, the day before they did go to Avatar 3D with their dad. Not a cheap movie. Josh didn't feel guilty about not taking me. Because of being blind in one eye I can't see the 3D movies. They're just a big blur and they give me a headache. Anyway, we were busy on Sunday. We had church and Josh had to deliver pizza later in the day. But, Josh had Monday off for President's Day, so after I had gone to step study and watched some more olympics and took a short nap and a shower, Josh and I left the kids at a neighbor's house and went on a very long date. We drove out to Camp Grizzly, so I could see where I would be spending my summer. Josh was appointed Camp Director for the summer, so the whole family will be moving out there and camping all summer. Then, we came back to town and ate the "Angry Bear". It's a steak and hamburger place. We both had delicious juicy steaks and sauteed mushrooms. We both love sauteed mushrooms. He was healthier than me and had a side of green beans while I had mashed potatoes and gravy. Typical farmgirl that I am. Steak and potatoes. Afterward we went to baskin-robbins since I had been craving ice cream all day and the steak did not curb that craving at all! After that, we came home and had some time to ourselves before the kids came home!

Today, apparently Chloe got hit in the head by a door at school and Josh took her to QuickCare to see if she needs stitches. I'm going to call him after I get off of here and see what the doctor said.

Crabby Me

Late night, but I thought I'd check in and let you all know I'm still here. I've been a bit snappy lately. Please pray for me to have a better attitude. Bible study tomorrow, so hopefully that will go well, and we will continue to not have sick kids. That has gone well so far this week, but of course, we've only had two days of school so far.

Wizard Of Oz

Yay! Kids are in bed. I'm reading them a Wizard of Oz book that is not the original Wizard Of Oz, that Chloe got, I think last year. Jeremiah just read the original Wizard Of Oz and he is just beside himself, with the differences. He keeps interrupting me when I read to them before bedtime, and correcting the mistakes in the book, the things they changed or left out. It drives him crazy that they would have the nerve to alter such a classic story!

Genesis 1:31

Genesis 1:31

God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning- the sixth day.

God saw that it was very good. I think He still thinks it was a good idea, although He decided briefly with a flood that it wasn't such a good idea, but we'll get to that later. He especially thinks that you were a good idea!

No Sick People Today (At Least Not Yet)

Yay! I'm on my way to bible study! Finally! I get to go!

A Long Week

Ugh! It's turning out to be a long week. Angela went to bed last night with a belly ache. She woke up with one still this morning and everything she ate came back up until dinner tonight, and she ate two hamburgers! I couldn't believe she even wanted one hamburger! Boy, she bounces back fast! Hopefully, everyone will go to school tomorrow.

Chloe's Eczema

We haven't been able to get Chloe's medications for a while. Needed to contact her doctor to update her prescriptions. I think he wants to see her, but he's so expensive. He doesn't do much, just looks at her and nods and says okay and updates the prescription and then charges us over a hundred dollars to see him for the same treatment. We've lost all faith in specialists. This has been our experience with all of them. Our family doctor does the same things as the specialists and doesn't charge as much for it. I think from now on we're just going to take her to our family doctor. She'll have her specialists records to go by and she can prescribe the same thing. He has proven his worth has long been spent. She can do the same thing now for less money. Anyway, she's been itchy and not getting a lot of sleep, so she's home today. I just got new meds for her and am letting it start to heal her skin. She's missed a lot of school this year with illnesses and things, but I didn't want to send her to school itching like crazy today. She wouldn't be able to focus on her work anyway. She slept all morning and she's been watching Veggietales videos all afternoon and trying not to itch.
