More pool party pics. In the last one they are playing a fun, simple game that Josh thought would be perfect for a pool party. Some of the kids didn't like it too much because they got extremely wet. I don't know what they thought was going to happen at a pool party, but apparently they didn't want to get wet.

Pool Party

These are also from Chloe's pool party last summer. Hopefully we'll be having one again this year.

Pics from the pool and daddy/daughter dance

All but the one are the kids at the pool last year. The one with Josh in the tux is him with the girls at our church's daddy/daughter dance.

Laundry Day!

Well, I don't think we'll be going to the pool today either. I've got to do laundry today. A ton of laundry, because we're leaving tomorrow afternoon to go see my parents during our paid vacation. Angela's at her reading program this morning and she and Chloe are going to a friend's house for a sleepover tonight. I need to do laundry so they'll have clean clothes for that as well. It will be nice to have it quiet around here so I can really hit the laundry hard this evening.

A HOT day and we probably won't be able to go to the pool.

Well, it's going to be another hot one, but Angela threw a huge fit when I told her they had to clean there rooms before they can go to the pool. So we're all going to have to suffer. She got really mad at her sister, figuring that she would make some excuse to get out of cleaning, which of course, Chloe does do a lot. Especially since she has summer school today, which is where she is right now. But Angela went off on her before she even had a chance and then she got mad and shoved her brother when he told her to please just do it and quit whining. He knows how much I hate whining and how far it gets with me. You want to be miserable in my house, just start whining and continue. You have no idea how miserable I can make a child's life. At least my own children. I don't punish other people's children. I just send them home. Their parents can deal with them, but I'm not going to keep them at my house if they're going to have a bad attitude. I usually don't have any problems with other people's children. They behave pretty well at my house. Of course, I don't ask them to do chores, either. That might have something to do with it. Anyway, she wanted another chance, so I told her if she cleaned her room and her brother's room by herself I'd take them to the pool. Am I horribly mean or what?

Josh's new job

Oh, my goodness. I still haven't told you?! That is so mean of me! I guess I got busy with other things. Josh is quitting his job, because he got hired as the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) executive director for our district. He'll be asking businesses to support the scouts and also planning activities for the boys. He will also be working at a camp for 6 weeks in the summer. The whole family gets to go for free and the kids can participate in many of the activities and they'll feed us too. All for free. It will be a six week summer vacation for me and the kids! It should be fun. Angela thinks she doesn't want to go, but I'll bet she'll have fun. She's just upset about being away from her friends for 6 weeks in the summer. That won't happen this summer, obviously, since there aren't even 6 weeks left of the summer, I don't think. It will begin next summer. He starts working on Aungust 3, and at that time I know there aren't 6 weeks left! His last day with Comcast Spotlight is this Wednesday, the 22nd. Then, we're going down to my parents place for the weekend. It's Chief Joseph Days weekend in my hometown, so there should be lots of fun things to do.

Exciting Upcoming News

Well, I have some very exciting news that I can't share with everyone yet, but tomorrow for sure I will tell you. I just have to tell some other very important people personally before I put it on here. I know you guys are going to be torn with curiosity, but trust me it will be worth it. Well, you probably won't find it as exciting as we have, but for us it's huge and especially for Josh. It's something that's been in the works for a couple of months, but we could not share it with anyone until it was official, cause we didn't know if it would even work out. But it has, much to our delight. While it's mostly about Josh it's going to change all of our lives... for the better, I think. I hope. Okay, now that I've left you with torturous curiosity I really don't have anything else going. Oh, except for I got a new cell phone. I even got to choose the color this time. It's red. I had the choice between that, ice blue, or black. I love my beautiful red phone. It's just a new phone, though. My number's still the same in case anyone was worried.

Softball

Well, today I have a cold. Josh has been playing a lot of softball. The team he plays on for the Pullman league is having their tournament. However, they got rained out last night and tonight, so they'll be continuing next weekend. That team is Trinity Baptist. He also plays for a team in Moscow. I'm not sure who that league is affiliated with, it's not parks and rec like the Pullman one. But he plays for a team called the Quitters. It's the Celebrate Recovery team. Other than that we've just been doing normal summer activities.

Fourth of July

Well, we had a good fourth of July. The first time I was able to enjoy myself since Sarah's death. We went to the parade in tiny Johnson, where they have a big parade in a little town. It's amazing. We came home and had lunch and took naps and then went to a friend's house for a BBQ. It was loads of fun and the guys shot water balloons with water balloon launchers they made. One of them broke on Josh and the surgical tubing came back and slapped him in the back giving him a lovely welt. The funnel that held the water balloons also broke into pieces and scraped his arm, but he was fine. After that we headed over to Pullman to feed the ducks and play on the playground, before the fireworks show. We found one of Angela's classmates and her family before the fireworks and Angela and Jailyn played while Mrs. Knott and I visited. Mrs. Knott is also a teacher at the Charter School and she was very good friends with Mrs. Parks. She'd had her and her husband over for dinner before even. So, she took Mrs. Parks murder very hard. Especially after finding out that her husband is the one who did it. He strangled her and then burned the house down according to the evidence they were able to collect I guess. Such a horrible situation, but she seems to be doing pretty well, considering. The fireworks were good. No hearts or flowers like my other friend mentioned from the fireworks show she enjoyed, but it was good anyway.
