My Children's teacher, Sarah Parks.

Please pray for me and everyone else that knew Sarah Parks in Moscow, Idaho. She was murdered and burned in her home on Wednesday morning. I have never felt so emotional over anyone's death before in my life. She was married and was expecting her first child.

Laying Low

Chloe had her first day of summer school today. She really had a great time. Jeremiah was playing on the hill behind our house and passed out three times. He's staying in the rest of the night and I'm keeping a close eye on him. He said he's felt kind of wheezy the last couple of nights and his breathing is not good on his Peak Flow Meter. I'm kind of worried about him. That's why we didn't go to the pool today, cause I didn't think it would be a very good idea, between his breathing problems and the girls getting over a cold. It could just be that he caught the girls' cold and it's affecting his Asthma. I hope that's all it is and he gets better soon.

Yay! Got some baseball pictures on here!

Again, trying to do pictures. For some reason the computer would not allow me to put Jeremiah's baseball pictures on here. I was hoping to do that since that's what I've been talking about a lot lately on here. These are from the AWANA Grand Prix race a while back.

I'm a Little Shook Up

Well, it's been way too eventful for me today. Kind of embarassing the way it ended. But for starters Angela was hoping to go to the pool with her new friend and neighbor, Lizzy. I told her I didn't think we'd be able to go to the pool again today, since there was a lot to be done at the house and we had to leave at 3:45 to get Jeremiah to Potlatch to warm up for his first game of the tournament for his season end with Cal Ripken baseball. They wanted me to follow them with Angela and I would drop her off and she would stay with her family until I came back to get her. They weren't leaving right then and I wasn't feeling real well, so I told her I didn't want to have to get up and run her there whenever her friends decided to go to the pool. I needed to get some sleep before taking Jeremiah to the game and didn't want to have to worry about having to hop up and take her to the pool. And besides if they didn't go fairly early she wouldn't be able to go to the pool, because of the game. Anyway, after we got back home she said, "Well, maybe I can go with them. I'm going to go back over and play with Lizzy and see if I can." So, she went to play with her and never came back home. I figured she was just having a great time playing with Lizzy at her house. It came time to get her and go to the game. So, I headed over to their house and no one was home, so I thought, "Did she just go to the pool with them without talking to me about it again." Well, there was only one way to find out. We drove to the pool and Jeremiah went in to find her. Sure enough that's where she was. Boy, was she in big trouble, but I told her I'd talk to her dad first to decide what we were going to do about it. Luckily for her I'd forgotten my cell phone, so I had to go back home real quick anyway, so she was able to grab some clothes and change in the car. Jeremiah was already going to be late at this point. So, we went to the game and Josh and I decided that she would be grounded from playing with friends for 2 weeks, plus I got to have her ipod as well as the new ipod gift card that I won to begin with, but gave to her cause I didn't have an ipod. She'd already been warned that she was about to lose the ipod cause she'd been copping an attitude with me lately anyway. Complaining about how unfair everything is and begging me to let her do things and getting pissy at me when I'd already said no. She knows once I say no, to leave it alone, I'm not changing my mind. If I wasn't sure I'd say maybe or I'll think about it, but if I say no, I mean it. So needless to say she was already in hot water that way. As we were heading back to the car to leave the game (after they lost by the way. But they were playing a tough team and played hard.) she was telling me that it wasn't fair for her to lose her ipod. She was trying to negotiate her punishment. She wanted to trade the ipod for more time away from friends. I wasn't having it. She was also saying that I like Jeremiah better than her cause I was praising Jeremiah for some great plays he made in the game. He played exceptionally well, by the way. He hit singles both times at bat and caught a grounder at shortstop throwing to first base where they got an out. Actually that whole inning was great. We only threw three pitches and got all 3 of them out at first base. Great fielding by the boys! Anyway, I was a little distracted on my way back to the car and not really noticing where everyone else was parked and I backed right into someone parked behind me. Not even very close to me, but because I didn't look before I got in the car I didn't even notice there was a car parked back there. They were parked across the little roadway there parked by the railroad there in potlatch while I was pointed at the fields. They were parallel, so I backed into the passenger side door. I felt like such an idiot. Everyone was staring. I pulled back into the parking space I was in and someone had a pen and paper for me to write my name and number for them and I left it under the windshield wiper of their car. That was the embarassing part I was talking about. I'm terrible in parking areas.

Yet Another Busy Day

Ugh! We already need another cleaning day! How in the world does that happen. I have to take Angela to her first day of her reading program at school today. I'll be doing that in just a few minutes. I doubt if we'll make it to the pool today. I have to pick Angela up at 12 p.m. and then we have to leave here at 3:30 p.m. to get Jeremiah to Potlatch in plenty of time to warm up for his game this evening. And I still have a ton of laundry. I never can seem to get caught up!

Jeremiah's baseball game

Well, they didn't win last night, but they definitely rallied at the end bringing the score to 14 to 10. Some of you may have already heard that Jeremiah fainted at the game last night. It was after his first time at bat. He didn't swing at a strike that he knew darn well he could've had and he was so mad at himself, because that was strike three. He couldn't take it back. So, he got himself all worked up and in the dugout suddenly started having trouble breathing and just went down. Luckily, his coach saw him going down and caught him and lowered him down gently so he wouldn't hurt himself. All Jeremiah says he knows is that he was standing up one minute and then he was on the ground looking up at his coach who was telling him to stay down. Josh went in the dugout and helped him up, had him take a couple of puffs on his inhaler and just sit down and relax for a few minutes. He's fine now. He was out playing as soon as it was time for them to take the field. Good thing, too, cause we only had 9 players last night. We would have had to forfeit if he couldn't play.

Another Monday in June

Today, I continued to do laundry. I ordered my bible study workbook for the summer and am anxious to get started on that. Jeremiah has another game tonight. They won their game on Friday. It's the first game they've won this season. Yeah, they've had a rough season. Jeremiah seems to be getting over his hitting slump. He hit 2 singles on Friday. All the boys played well. I missed all but the last 2 innings but I heard all about it, so I know they did well. Hopefully we'll continue the trend tonight. They're playing the same team again. They lost one against them and won one, so I guess they have to break the tie. I'll let you know how that goes. Hopefully we'll be going to the pool tomorrow and then Angela's reading program at the school starts on Wednesday.

A Typical Friday At the Paparazzo Home

We don't even have enough towels at this point to go to the pool. Unless I can get that whipped out in the next couple of hours we won't be going to the pool. I ordered my member book for the summer bible study I'm doing yesterday. Jeremiah has a game again tonight, but not until 7 p.m. and I'm going to have to miss that one, cause all of the leadership for Celebrate Recovery is in Nampa today, so they need their more senior members to be there for anyone new that comes. Or anyone old that needs someone to talk to, so I need to do that tonight. My family will be at the game. I feel so torn. I'm sure many of you know what I mean.

Another busy day

It's a beautiful day, not hot not cold, but we're going to go to the pool. Even though, I have a ton of laundry to do and dishes and Jeremiah has a baseball game later and we have a prayer meeting. I also need to get my book ordered for bible study this summer.

A June day at the Paparazzo home

Jeremiah's breathing is really good today. He still has a cold, but it's not affecting his breathing anymore. In fact, his breathing is better than ever. I, however, am having some stomach problems this morning. I'll spare you the details. So, we'll have to see how I'm feeling this afternoon before we decide if we're going to the pool or not. I may not be up to it. Angela's at her piano lesson right now. Jackie's taking her out this morning to Wheatberries. So, we can't do anything until after that anyway.

A sick kid

Well, I was wanting to take it easy today anyway. As it turns out Jeremiah caught a cold. I was going to take them to the pool if it was warm but I can't take Jeremiah so that's out. Thankfully it's not real warm today anyway, so it's not a big deal. God is being gracious. It's only in the 60's today, so it's comfortable in the house. We live in a trailer house with no air conditioning so it gets really hot during the day.

Cleaning Day Complete (well, mostly)

Well, cleaning day went fairly well. We fought almost the whole time, both with the kids and each other. That's normal. The kids cause they actually don't actually don't think it's fair that they have to clean even just their rooms let alone help with the rest of the house, even though most of it's their mess. They claim the cat does most of it. Sure, blame the one living thing in the house that can't even speak up for herself. Josh and I just have very different personalities when it comes to getting any task done. I'm much more laid back and like to take breaks. Josh just goes, goes, goes non-stop until it's done. I don't even have the stamina to do that.

Oh, and the well, mostly part is of course some things didn't quite get done, but most of it and the most important stuff got done.

Cleaning Day

After 2 days at the pool, Josh came home and decided we need a cleaning day. So, I guess we'll be cleaning the house today. I was hoping to take it easy today, but so much for that.

Summer bible study

I'm going to be doing Jennifer Rothschild's study, "Me, Myself, and Lies" through the LPM blog this summer. I think maybe my friend Jeni will be joining me.

Another random picture

Another picture from the pool last year.

Last day of school

What a day! It was crazy! Went to Chloe's graduation. So much fun. All of those kids are so cute. Then, we picked up all her stuff from her classroom. Her portfolio that all the teacher's at MCS put together throughout the year for their students. Such wonderfully faithful teachers. And of course they cleaned out their desks and cubbies and had to bring home all that stuff. There was still an hour of school left for the rest of the students, so Chloe and I went to the park and she swinged for a while on the swings (duh, like you couldn't figure that out) and climbed the mini climbing wall and slid down the pole and then did a quick run down the slide and then we went to the dollar store where we found nothing I was looking for. That's okay. It wasn't that important anyway. Then, it was time to go get Jeremiah and Angela, so we could take Jeremiah to baseball practice. He'd forgotten his baseball pants so we had to go home for him to change and then go back to the baseball field. He was only a few minutes late. Then, I went home and unloaded the girls and all their stuff. Thank God Jeremiah brought all his stuff home yesterday. I'm not sure what they did all day at school today. Angela said they cleaned their classroom and played. Mostly they played. Then, I thought Jeremiah wouldn't be done with practice until at least 5:30, but apparently they were done at 5, so Jeremiah had to call me and tell me to come pick him up. So, I did. And I'm not done yet. We have prayer meeting at 7 p.m. I hope nobody wanted to eat dinner tonight! I'm way too hot and exhausted!

Last week of school

Well, it's been a busy week for the kids. They went to the pool on Monday. Jeremiah had to miss the afternoon cause I had to take him to Pullman to see his allergist for a check up (we're going to have a lot of those for a while.) Nothing new there. We're keeping him on the same treatment for now since it's working and his lung capacity is back to what it should be on the meds. Has been for a couple weeks now. Tuesday they had a track and field day in the morning. Fun competitive stuff. Mostly just for fun. Chloe's class went to the park that afternoon. We went to Jeremiah's baseball game after that. Today is Chloe's Kindergarten graduation that I will be going to later and Angela's class is going to the park today from what I understand. Last Friday they had their end of the year market day. They earn Moscow Charter School "school bucks" throughout the year and then they get to "sell" stuff on market day. Things they made and things like that. And they can buy stuff from each other with their school bucks. They always have a lot of fun with that and come home with interesting things. Some of the parents bake things or get things at the store to sell at their market day. They donate them of course. Plus they can sell things they don't want anymore so kind of like a yard sale in a way. Except some of the stuff is brand new. Jeremiah auctioned off a couple of his old toys that he doesn't play with anymore, so they can do all kinds of stuff for market day. Some of the kids get pretty creative. They come home with some interesting things.
